A local DJ, Stanton Lee Lorenzo Govender, was shot during an attempted robbery in Grove End, Phoenix early this morning. The incident occurred around 00:50 when Govender was approached by two suspects who initially asked for a cigarette before trying to rob him. The suspects brandished a homemade 9mm firearm, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
One suspect was fatally wounded in the altercation, while the other remains at large. The injured suspect was transported to the hospital by private transport. Police and local authorities have since cleared the scene.
