Richards Bay drivers should prepare for temporary lane closures on the N2 Safari Bridge (B1025) as the South African National Road Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) conducts essential maintenance work. The closures are scheduled for 5, 6, and 7 September 2024 from 09h00 to 14h00, affecting the southbound lanes.
According to SANRAL Eastern Region Project Manager Serisha Sukraj, the work will involve various activities such as line marking, sandblasting, barrier removal, and asphalt repairs. The lane closures will also facilitate the casting of concrete parapets, with stop-and-go controls in place during this time.
Motorists are encouraged to plan their routes in advance, allowing extra travel time, particularly when heading to travel hubs like airports. “We appeal to road users to follow road signs and speed limits when approaching the construction zone,” said Sukraj. SANRAL apologizes for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the public’s cooperation as they work to maintain the infrastructure.
