The Independent Electoral Commission is preparing to disclose the status of political party and independent candidate lists for the upcoming May 29th general elections.
Objections were permitted until the deadline yesterday. After conducting a comprehensive review of the objections, the commission will announce its determinations, including the eligibility of the MK party, supported by former president Jacob Zuma. The commission's chairperson specified criteria for objections, such as individuals below 18 years old, unregistered voters, and non-South Africans.
Moreover, nominees who fail to submit the necessary acceptance of nomination will face disqualification from participating in the election.
