Two individuals were fatally wounded and eight others sustained injuries, with five in critical condition, during a shooting incident in Jerusalem on Thursday, as reported by first responders.
According to the police, two suspects involved in the shooting were immediately injured at the scene following the attack near a bus stop on the western side of Jerusalem, where no entry checkpoints are present.
Jerusalem police chief Doron Torgeman informed reporters that "Two terrorists arrived in a car, one of them armed with an M-16 and the other with a pistol," they then proceeded to open fire.
The Magen David Adom emergency service disclosed that one of the victims was a 24-year-old woman.
The shooting occurred shortly after an extension of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip, moments before its expiration.
