Police have launched a manhunt for suspects following a shooting that left two men dead and another injured on Sbumbu Road in Amaoti, north of Durban, on Sunday morning.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Paul Magwaza says police are investigating two cases of murder and one of attempted murder following the incident.
“It is alleged that three males were walking on the road in Amaoti when two other males emerged and fired shots at them, fatally wounding two males, and one victim was rushed to the clinic for medical attention,” says Magwaza.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa, the shooting allegedly occurred after a robbery.
The unit reports that one of the victims had returned to confront the alleged robbery suspects, accompanied by two friends, when the suspects allegedly opened fire on the group.
Two men died at the scene, while the third victim was taken to a clinic for medical treatment.
Police investigations are ongoing, and authorities are searching for the suspects.
