The case against self-proclaimed pastor Caiphus Mkhawane and his two co-accused has been postponed in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court.

The trio appeared in court on Friday, facing charges relating to the alleged rape of a 43-year-old woman and the murder of her four-month-old baby.

According to reports, the woman allegedly accompanied Mkhawane and one of his wives to the Hennops River for a ritual, where she was allegedly raped.

The infant was allegedly abducted and killed as part of a plan to benefit from a funeral policy.

The matter has been postponed to 29 October to allow accused number one, Ntsako Makhubela, to undergo a mental evaluation.

The accused are expected to return to court on that date as the case continues.
