A bikers’ convoy reportedly linked to the March and March movement is expected to take place in Durban on Thursday afternoon, with possible traffic disruptions around Moore Road, Berea and the Durban CBD.
According to a security early warning, the convoy is scheduled to begin at 5pm from the BP garage on Moore Road. However, the route has not yet been confirmed.
Motorists could face congestion, road obstructions and delays, particularly during peak-hour traffic.
The March and March movement has traditionally been associated with anti-illegal immigration campaigns, although recent mobilisation efforts have also included broader socioeconomic grievances.
The security assessment identifies traffic disruption as the primary concern, with the possibility of confrontation should tensions escalate. No specific threats of violence have been identified.
Businesses, logistics operators and commuters have been advised to remain vigilant, monitor traffic updates and make provision for possible delays.
The planned activity is based on social media mobilisation, with the expected turnout, route and extent of potential disruptions still unconfirmed.
