Former president Jacob Zuma has been seen visiting a temple in India alongside corruption-accused businessman Ajay Gupta, in footage that has been widely circulated on social media.
During the visit, Zuma told members of the media in India that he was confident he would return to power after receiving a blessing at the temple.
The footage also appears to show South Africa's High Commissioner to India, Anil Sooklal, accompanying Zuma and Gupta during the visit.
The South African government has not yet commented on the visit or Sooklal's presence in the footage.
Zuma and the Gupta family have consistently denied allegations of state capture and wrongdoing.
However, multiple investigations, including findings by the State Capture Commission, concluded that members of the Gupta family exercised extensive influence over appointments and the awarding of state contracts during Zuma's presidency.
The latest appearance has renewed public attention on Zuma's longstanding association with the Gupta family, despite years of allegations and investigations into state capture and corruption.
