A tense situation unfolded earlier today at a fast-food outlet on Inanda Road when an armed suspect reportedly threatened staff before fleeing the scene.
Waterfall Street Patrol (WSP) received an emergency alert from a community group about a male suspect behaving aggressively on the premises. WSP patrollers, working in coordination with Blue Security, responded swiftly. However, the suspect had already left the scene by the time they arrived.
Eyewitnesses provided a detailed description, which was quickly circulated to assist in a coordinated manhunt.
The suspect was later spotted further along Inanda Road attempting to blend in with pedestrians. Responders maintained discreet surveillance until he distanced himself from the public. At that point, members of the Blue Security Tactical Unit—supported by the Tactical Ambassador—moved in and apprehended him.
Upon arrest, two knives were discovered in the suspect’s possession. He has since been handed over to Hillcrest SAPS and is expected to face criminal charges.
Authorities have commended all parties involved for their prompt and professional response, which helped ensure the safety of the local community.
