A third suspect, believed to be linked to the brutal murder of six community patrollers in the Marry Me informal settlement in Soshanguve, is expected to appear before the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The 27-year-old suspect is the latest person to be arrested in relation to the tragic incident, which occurred two weekends ago. Two other suspects were previously arrested and appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court last Wednesday. They face charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and live ammunition, and will return to court on Tuesday.
The court proceedings were held in camera as an identity parade is still pending, meaning neither of the accused can yet be publicly identified.
The attack on the twelve patrollers left four dead at the scene, while two others later died from their injuries in the hospital. Authorities continue their investigation into the case, which has shocked the Soshanguve community.
