Eleven Injured in Fiery Crash on Otto Volek Road

Eleven people were injured in a severe collision on Otto Volek Road near the M19 on Saturday afternoon just before 4 PM. The crash, involving two vehicles, resulted in one bursting into flames at the intersection.

ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived at the scene to find extensive wreckage. Emergency responders, including the eThekwini Fire Department, quickly contained the blaze while paramedics set up a triage system to assess the injured. Both vehicles had multiple occupants, with injuries ranging from moderate to serious. Several Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances transported the stabilized patients to various Durban hospitals for further treatment.

The exact cause of the crash remains unclear at this stage. SAPS was on the scene and has launched an investigation into the incident.
