The collision occurred between Sand River and Pyramids Hotel, prompting the closure of the affected section of the route.

N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) Chief Operating Officer Thania Dhoogra has urged motorists to approach the area with caution and obey instructions from law enforcement officers.
Dhoogra has also advised road users to postpone travel through Van Reenen Pass, where possible, until further notice.
