Former president and uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party leader Jacob Zuma has been discharged from hospital following his admission last week.
Zuma was admitted to Netcare St Anne’s Hospital in Pietermaritzburg for medical attention.
According to eNCA, Zuma was discharged on Monday night but was advised by his medical team to remain in the Pietermaritzburg area overnight in case of a medical emergency.
His doctors are expected to reassess his condition on Tuesday. If given the all-clear, he will be permitted to travel to his Nkandla homestead in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
The Presidency previously confirmed that the 84-year-old had been admitted for a routine medical check-up, which he undergoes twice a year, under the care of the surgeon-general.
