British national Ndodana Tshuma is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court following his arrest in connection with the alleged murders of his wife and two daughters in the United Kingdom.

Tshuma was arrested by members of the South African Police Service, working alongside Interpol, in Kensington, Johannesburg, on Friday.

His arrest paves the way for extradition proceedings that could see him returned to the United Kingdom to stand trial on murder charges.

Authorities allege Tshuma is wanted by British law enforcement for the deaths of his wife and two children. Further details surrounding the alleged offences are expected to form part of the extradition process.

The case has also renewed concerns over South Africa's border security and immigration controls, with questions being raised about how an internationally wanted suspect was able to enter and remain in the country.

Tshuma is expected to appear before the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court, where proceedings relating to his extradition are set to begin.
