A man has been shot and killed in what is believed to be a targeted attack in the Springfield Park area of Durban.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon at the corner of Willowfield and Ashfield roads, prompting a response from KZN VIP Emergency Medical Services, alongside several emergency and private security agencies.
Upon arriving at the scene, paramedics found an adult man inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was travelling in his vehicle when he was ambushed by unknown suspects, who opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Despite emergency responders' efforts, the man sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and the motive for the attack has not yet been established.
The South African Police Service has taken over the scene and has launched an investigation into the incident.
