Western Cape police are investigating a triple murder following a shooting incident in Langa on the Cape Flats on Monday night.
According to police spokesperson André Traut, officers responded to reports of a shooting at a braai stand in Chief Albert Luthuli Street, where three people were fatally shot.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, and no arrests have been made. Police have not yet established a motive for the attack.
In a separate incident, a 42-year-old man was shot and killed during an alleged robbery in Coniston Park near Muizenberg.
Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said officers arrived at the scene and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead by medical personnel at the scene.
According to preliminary investigations, the victim had been walking home when he was approached by three unknown suspects. The suspects allegedly opened fire before fleeing the area.
Police believe robbery may have been the motive for the attack, although investigations are ongoing.
Muizenberg police have opened a murder case, while efforts to trace the suspects continue.
Both incidents form part of a spate of violent crimes being investigated by Western Cape police, who have appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
