The countdown has officially begun for one of Phoenix’s most loved community celebrations as Phoenix Child Welfare prepares to host the highly anticipated Phoenix Charity Fair at the Rydalvale Grounds from May 29 to June 7.
This year’s fair carries special significance, marking 50 years of community spirit, growth and resilience in Phoenix while raising vital funds for vulnerable children and families supported by the organisation.
For many residents, the annual fair is more than just an event it is a tradition woven into the heart of the community. From thrilling rides and sizzling food stalls to live music and family entertainment, the fair promises two weekends packed with excitement, laughter and meaningful giving.
Adding to the buzz this year is the return of the ever-popular Chetty’s Fun Fair, bringing even bigger and more exhilarating rides for adrenaline seekers of all ages. Families can also expect games, delicious treats and a festive atmosphere designed to celebrate the spirit that has kept Phoenix united for five decades.
The official opening takes place on Friday, May 29 at 6.30pm with the Charity Queen Competition, an initiative aimed at encouraging community involvement while raising funds for the Phoenix Children’s Home. Opening night entertainment is expected to set the tone for what organisers say will be one of the biggest fairs yet.
Music lovers are in for a treat on Saturday, May 30, when the Bollywood Fusion Band takes to the stage. Earlier that evening, soccer fans will have the chance to watch the UEFA Cup Final live on a giant screen from 6pm, blending sporting excitement with the festival atmosphere.
The celebrations continue on Sunday, May 31, with a special Senior Citizens Party at 10am, honouring the older generation who helped shape the Phoenix community over the past 50 years.
One of the fair’s standout moments is expected on Friday, June 5, with a Birthday Bash dedicated to residents turning 50 this year, a symbolic celebration mirroring Phoenix’s own golden milestone. The evening will also feature a thrilling Mixed Martial Arts showcase at 8pm, followed by an Entertainment Spectacular at 9pm.
Visitors attending on Saturday, June 6, can look forward to energetic performances by the Bollywood Showband, while the final day of festivities on Sunday, June 7, kicks off with the Check Save Kids Party at 10am. The fair will officially close at 7pm with entertainment by Flash Entertainers.

But beyond the music, rides and celebrations lies a deeper purpose.
Megazone Bollywood 104.8FM has partnered with Phoenix Child Welfare to launch the Winter Drive 2026 under the heartfelt theme: “Share Warmth, Make a Difference!” The campaign is collecting clothing, blankets, toys, books and non-perishable food items to support struggling families and children during the winter season. Donations can be dropped off at the Megazone studio until June 5.
Organisers say every contribution, no matter how small, can help bring comfort and hope to those in need.
“Together We Can Uplift The Community,” organisers said as they called on residents to support the initiative and continue the spirit of compassion that has defined Phoenix for generations.
