Authorities have announced increased safety measures along the busy N3 Toll Route in anticipation of heightened traffic volumes over the upcoming Freedom Day and Workers’ Day long weekends.

Motorists have been warned to expect delays and potentially challenging driving conditions as traffic is set to surge along one of the country’s key transport corridors.

The N3 Toll Concession confirmed that law enforcement visibility has been significantly increased along the route between Cedara in KwaZulu-Natal and Heidelberg in Gauteng.

Drivers travelling through high-risk areas, including Van Reenen Pass, have been urged to remain vigilant, particularly as adverse weather conditions such as rain, mist, and strong winds may reduce visibility.

Authorities have reminded road users to avoid distractions, adhere to traffic regulations, and maintain safe following distances to minimise the risk of accidents during the busy travel period.
