The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has announced significant fuel price increases set to take effect from Wednesday, 1 April.
Both grades of petrol will rise by R3.06 per litre, while diesel prices are expected to surge by between R7.37 and R7.51 per litre.
Illuminating paraffin will see the steepest hike, increasing by a record R11.67 per litre.
The latest adjustments come after government intervened to temporarily reduce the general fuel levy by R3 per litre, a measure that will remain in place until 5 May.
