A power outage at the Alexandra Magistrate's Court forced the postponement of criminal proceedings against Bellermine Mugabe and Tobias Matonhodze on Thursday morning.

The pair made a brief appearance before the court, but the matter could not proceed due to the electricity interruption. The case has been postponed to 11 March.

Prosecutors confirmed that additional charges have been added to the docket, including two counts of pointing a firearm and alleged contraventions of the Immigration Act.

The charges relate to an incident said to have taken place at Mugabe’s home in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, where an altercation allegedly occurred.

Authorities indicated that proceedings will resume once the court is able to continue operations without disruption. The case file has since been updated to reflect the latest developments.
