A man is recovering in hospital after surviving a shooting incident in Durban on Thursday morning, as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Emergency responders said the victim was discovered on Electron Road in the Umgeni Business Park, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to Life Response 24/7, paramedics arrived promptly and initiated urgent medical care at the scene. Spokesperson Keylin Govender said the man, believed to be in his 40s, required advanced life support.
“Immediate first aid began while advanced life support paramedics rushed to assist. The patient was treated and stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital for further management,” Govender said.
Authorities have not yet released further details, and investigations into the motive and suspects are ongoing.
