Two security guards have been injured after a cash-in-transit vehicle was blown up in a brazen attack in the south of Durban on Friday morning. The incident occurred on the M35 near KwaMakhutha.

According to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, the roadway has been closed while authorities comb through the scene.
“At this stage, two security officers are being treated for minor injuries, and SAPS is in attendance,” he said.

A video shared by Jamieson shows the rear section of the cash van torn apart, with debris scattered across the road.

Police and emergency teams remain on-site, and investigations are ongoing.

This is a developing story.
