Swift coordination between KZNVIP Response Officers and members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) led to the arrest of a suspect following a stabbing near a secondary school in Woodview, Phoenix, on 11 November 2025.

According to KZNVIP Security, one of its response officers was on routine patrol near the school when he noticed a group of learners gathered near a bus stop shortly after 10:45 AM. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a learner had been stabbed in the right arm, and several suspects had fled through a nearby pathway toward Canterpalm.

Additional KZNVIP units and emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene. The injured learner received treatment on-site before being transported to a nearby medical facility for further care.

A short while later, CPF members informed KZNVIP officers that they had detained a suspect near Mainpark and Trenance Park, believed to be linked to the incident. While the individual was later confirmed not to be the direct attacker, he was identified as part of the group involved in the stabbing.

Further information from CPF members revealed that the suspect was also wanted in connection with multiple robberies in the area.

The suspect has since been handed over to SAPS Phoenix for further investigation and processing.
