An 18-year-old man, who allegedly stalked and threatened a 13-year-old girl he met on Instagram, fled a Phoenix home today after Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called to the scene. The incident occurred around 3:17 PM, when the family, who had locked themselves inside their residence, reported finding the man outside.
According to the family, their Grade 8 daughter began communicating with the suspect on Instagram in April 2024. The man, identified as a resident of Kenville and an employee of a catering company, reportedly sent explicit images and homemade pornographic videos to the girl via WhatsApp, and repeatedly requested nude photos of her in return.
The situation escalated when the suspect allegedly began stalking the girl at school and during excursions, demonstrating knowledge of her whereabouts. He then threatened to expose her private images and demanded money. These threats eventually escalated to include kidnapping and murder. The girl had inadvertently shared personal details with the perpetrator, which he used to locate her home address and her parents' workplaces.
RUSA officers arrived to find the suspect had already fled the area in a white Toyota Corolla. RUSA is in possession of several pornographic videos allegedly made by the suspect, along with text messages containing death threats sent to the minor. They also have multiple facial images of the suspect. Authorities are investigating the matter.
