Two women were injured on Friday morning after an unmanned truck ploughed into a home on Inca Drive in KwaZulu-Natal.

Emergency personnel from Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the scene shortly after 11:00. Upon arrival, they found a 65-year-old woman seated in the yard, bleeding from a head wound. A 36-year-old domestic worker, also in the home at the time, was discovered in the backyard with leg injuries.

Initial reports indicate that the pair had been in the living room when a blue crane truck smashed through the wall of the house. The vehicle, which was reportedly unmanned, had rolled downhill before crashing into the property.

The truck driver, who attempted to re-enter the vehicle as it began to roll, sustained minor injuries. Authorities suspect brake failure to be the cause of the incident.

Both injured women received medical attention at the scene before being transported to hospital. An investigation into the exact circumstances of the crash is underway.
