A manhunt is underway in Temple Valley, KwaZulu-Natal, after a robbery suspect targeted a school premises on Thursday morning.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the suspect entered the school at approximately 09:27 and robbed two individuals living on the property, making off with a Huawei and an Oppo cellphone.
A caretaker who witnessed the incident attempted to intervene. Armed with a cane knife, he pursued the suspect into nearby dense bush before alerting RUSA’s Operations Centre for backup.
RUSA suspects that the firearm used during the robbery may have been a replica. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. The search for the suspect continues.
