The City of Johannesburg’s Emergency Services (EMS) remains on high alert following a level 2 yellow warning for severe thunderstorms issued by the South African Weather Service last week.
Despite no major incidents being reported, EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi has urged residents to remain cautious, particularly on wet roads.
“We continue to plead with motorists to exercise caution while driving and to avoid crossing flooded roads or low-lying bridges,” said Mulaudzi. “Residents in low-lying areas should also refrain from crossing river streams while going about their daily activities.”
He assured the public that EMS teams are actively monitoring all seven regions of the city to respond swiftly to any emergencies.
Authorities have urged residents to take necessary precautions as unpredictable weather conditions persist.
