It has been one year since six-year-old Joshlin Smith vanished from her home in the Middelpos informal settlement in Saldanha Bay.
Her disappearance has left her family and the community in turmoil. Kelly Smith, Joshlin’s mother, along with Jacquen Appolis and Stevano van Rhyn, are facing charges of kidnapping. The state alleges that Kelly Smith had planned to sell Joshlin, as well as her two other children.
Despite an extensive search operation, Joshlin remains missing and her case continues to raise concern in the community as authorities work to uncover her whereabouts.
