The North West Transport Investments Company has announced it will launch an internal investigation into the cause of a fire that destroyed nine buses at one of its depots in Moretele, North West.
While the company has not ruled out the possibility of foul play, it has stated that it cannot confirm whether the fire was intentionally set. This incident follows a recent coordinated attack in Mpumalanga, where several buses were torched amid rising tensions between the bus and taxi industries.
The investigation will aim to determine the cause of the blaze and assess the extent of the damage.
