The trial of the five men accused of murdering former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa is set to resume at the High Court in Pretoria this morning.

The case was previously postponed to allow Advocate Charles Mnisi time to prepare for the defence of accused number one, Muzi Sibiya. Mnisi took over Sibiya’s defence following the passing of his former lawyer, Thulani Mngomezulu, in December.

Mnisi also represents accused number three, Mthobisi Mncube. During the last court session over a week ago, he requested additional time to review Sibiya’s case records and consult with his client.

The five accused are on trial for the 2014 murder of Meyiwa, who was fatally shot in Vosloorus, a case that has gripped the nation for nearly a decade.
