Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times during a violent home invasion at his Mumbai residence early Thursday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 am when an unidentified intruder broke into the property.
Khan engaged in a scuffle with the assailant and sustained six stab wounds, two of which were deep, including one near his spine. He is currently undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
Mumbai Police confirmed the incident and ongoing investigations. "An unidentified person entered the residence of actor Saif Ali Khan. The actor and the intruder engaged in a scuffle. The actor sustained injuries and is receiving treatment," said a police spokesperson.
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, stated, "Khan has undergone a procedure for his injuries. While two of the wounds are deep, he is out of danger."
A statement from Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team reassured fans that Saif is recovering and the family is safe.
Authorities are working to identify the intruder and the motive behind the attack.
