Eastern Cape Community Safety MEC Xolile Nqatha has confirmed that police have identified persons of interest in connection with the brutal murders of four members of the Mente family in Willowvale, East London. The victims, aged between 34 and 59, were gunned down yesterday.
MEC Nqatha, along with local government officials and police, visited the family to offer support.
Community Safety Spokesperson Makhaya Komisa condemned the murders, issuing a stern warning to the criminals responsible. “The police are actively pursuing the identified persons of interest,” Komisa said. “We also urge the public to continue using our extortion hotline to report such crimes.”
The police investigation is ongoing as authorities work to bring those responsible for the tragic killings to justice.
