KwaZulu-Natal police have shot and killed eight suspected cash-in-transit robbers during a confrontation near Richards Bay.
Authorities intercepted the suspects, who were reportedly en route to rob a foreign-owned business. The group allegedly opened fire on officers as they attempted to stop their vehicle, prompting the deadly shootout.
Following the incident, police recovered three firearms, two replica guns, and housebreaking tools from the suspects.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine whether the seized firearms are connected to other criminal activities.
