Another protest broke out on Wednesday near Blackburn, close to Umhlanga, causing disruptions on the N2. Footage from the scene shows objects being burned alongside the highway, although the specific reasons for the protest remain unclear.

Road Traffic Inspectorate spokesperson Sindi Msimang advised motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes, noting that only one lane is currently open, leading to significant delays and traffic congestion.

In addition, reports indicate that a taxi blockade is still ongoing in the Durban CBD, with numerous taxis halting operations near Durban Station. This protest is linked to frustrations among members of the Durban Long Station Taxi Association, who are upset about not receiving their operating licenses. The blockades have disrupted several routes, including long-distance services to Zululand and Johannesburg. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as commuters face increasing delays.
