Arrest Made Following Discovery of Two Bodies in De Deur

One individual has been arrested, and three others are being questioned after the bodies of two women were discovered at an opencast mine in De Deur, located south of Johannesburg.

According to police reports, the women were kidnapped during a house robbery in Kliprivier last Friday night. Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that a murder case has been initiated.

Masondo stated, “One suspect was arrested after he was found in possession of some items stolen during the house robbery. He appeared in the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court on Monday, October 28, 2024, and has been remanded in custody.”

Additionally, three other men have been detained for questioning regarding the house robbery and kidnapping case. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details surrounding this tragic incident.
