Drivers are being urged to remain cautious on the roads as wet weather conditions are expected to continue across most of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on Monday and Tuesday.

The South African Weather Service has issued an Orange Level 6 warning for disruptive rain over the southeastern parts of the province. In addition, a Yellow Level 4 warning has been announced for severe thunderstorms affecting most areas of KZN.

On Sunday, a tragic accident claimed the lives of three people and left seven others injured in a crash on the N2 between Gingindlovu and Fairbreeze. Authorities reported that two vehicles collided while en route to eMpangeni.

Although no flood-related incidents have been reported, the eThekwini Municipality has stated that emergency teams remain on high alert.

City spokesperson Gugu Sisilana confirmed that search and rescue teams, along with humanitarian relief partners, have been activated. "The public is urged to remain vigilant and exercise caution," Sisilana said.

Motorists are advised to drive carefully and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas as storm conditions persist.
