Police Launch Manhunt After Elsies River CPF Member Gunned Down

Police have initiated a manhunt for suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a member of the Elsies River Community Policing Forum (CPF) in Cape Town.

Provincial police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi confirmed that 49-year-old Clinton Treu was killed during a failed robbery and hijacking attempt.

Swartbooi stated, “Elsies River detectives are actively pursuing leads to capture those responsible for the shooting death of a 49-year-old man on Kerner Street, Clarke Estate.”

Upon arriving at the crime scene, officers found Treu with gunshot wounds to his head. Medical personnel declared him dead at the scene. The assailants fled and remain at large. Police continue their efforts to locate and arrest the suspects involved.
