Commuters in Nzhelele, near Louis Trichardt in Limpopo, are facing significant disruptions due to a protest by the Dzanani Taxi Association. Taxi operators have blocked several sections of the R523 road, which connects multiple villages to nearby towns. The protest stems from allegations that one operator has been running services without the necessary permit. Provincial Transport Department spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene announced that discussions with the association are scheduled to address the issue.

In KwaZulu-Natal, over seventeen taxi associations have ceased operations on the South Coast, stranding thousands of commuters. The taxi operators are protesting against what they claim is harassment by the Public Transport Enforcement Unit, known as Operation Shanela. The operators demand the release of more than 30 minibuses that were impounded during the anti-crime initiative and have vowed to halt services until their demands are met.
