A couple was tragically shot and killed in the parking lot of a housing complex on Clayfield Drive, Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal, early this morning. The incident occurred around 12:44 AM, prompting residents to call the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Phoenix Operations Centre for assistance.
Upon arrival, RUSA officers found the Phoenix SAPS already at the scene. The body of a woman was discovered in the passenger seat of a white VW Polo, while a man, believed to be her husband, was found in a nearby pathway, approximately 20 meters away. Both had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing a silver VW Jetta, with an unknown registration, fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting. The motive for the attack remains unclear as authorities continue to investigate the incident.
