An 11-year-old boy from Khayelitsha was compelled to walk 60 kilometers after being removed from a bus for losing his boarding card. The incident occurred in Simon's Town, where the bus driver refused to let the boy board, contrary to the company’s policy that prohibits ejecting uniformed schoolchildren.

The bus company has issued an apology and promised to more rigorously enforce its policies among drivers. The family, deeply troubled by the event and concerned for the boy’s safety, is now contemplating legal action.
