ACSA will issue an update today following an incident at Cape Town International Airport on Thursday evening, which prompted the deployment of law enforcement agencies. The deployment occurred after the crew of a departing flight was alerted to a potential security threat. ACSA has confirmed that airport management was present at the scene to ensure compliance with aviation safety and security protocols. A passenger on flight FA102 from the Cape Town International Airport, Tony Gaffane, stated that passengers were not informed about the security threat until they were airborne. Initially, they were informed about operational issues, but later learned about the bomb scare through news reports and tweets from ACSA.
