The N-12 route between Oudtshoorn and De Rust in the Little Karoo has been reopened after being closed due to flooding on Monday evening. Motorists are advised by Western Cape traffic authorities to exercise caution while driving. However, the Meiringspoort Pass remains closed, with the N-9 route via Willowmore serving as an alternative for travel to and from the Central Karoo.

Additionally, approximately 16 families affected by the floods have been evacuated from their homes to a local sports center hall in Citrusdal. One resident who anticipated the flooding alerted others in time, while another recounted being warned by someone to evacuate as the water approached. They are currently provided with food and shelter in a dry environment.
