A Durban mother is making an emotional plea for her son's return. Matthew Pretorius of Hillcrest has been missing since Sunday, last seen in Westville.
His mother, Bonnie Pretorius, revealed that his car was spotted traveling down the south coast and was later found abandoned in Kokstad with an empty tank.
Pretorius explained that her son is suffering from depression and expressed her deep concern for his well-being. She hasn't slept since his disappearance.
"It’s not easy, and it’s a shock because he’s not himself. I'm worried about him - what he might do. It’s just very heart-breaking. He's my third child, and people know how close we are. It just makes me so sad."
A missing person’s case has been opened at Westville SAPS.
