A man was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the head during an apparent robbery in Durban. The incident, which occurred on Thursday on Rick Turner Road, involved a cash-in-transit vehicle.

The victim, believed to be a security guard, was found in critical condition by paramedics. Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, stated, "Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS and security personnel, with the area cordoned off. They attended to a security officer, believed to be in his thirties, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body. Advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilize the man before rushing him to a nearby hospital for urgent care."

"It is alleged that suspects robbed the guard of money. However, SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further."
