Load shedding was put on hold in eThekwini following strike action in March.

Eskom National Control approved this decision. The rationale was that the strike caused several Medium Voltage outages, leading to decreased electricity demand. Now that the faults have returned to typical levels, load shedding will resume as agreed with National Control.

It will recommence tomorrow, April 3rd, 2024, at 06:00am, following the published schedules for eThekwini.
