Last night, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received an urgent call for assistance via a community WhatsApp Crime Alert Group regarding a shooting incident that occurred at the intersection of Hendon and Wembley Road in the Kenville area.
In response, multiple Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were swiftly dispatched to the location to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance. Upon arrival, the team encountered a tragic scene: two brothers had become victims of a shooting carried out by an unknown number of armed suspects. Further inquiries revealed that the brothers were simply standing by the road when the unprovoked assault occurred.
One brother sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh, with his ear grazed by a bullet. Unfortunately, the other brother lost his life to a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Netcare911 paramedics.
Greenwood Park SAPS were present and will be investigating a case of attempted murder and murder.
