A motorcyclist has died following a crash involving a car on North Coast Road in Durban North on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services responded to the scene after reports of a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle.
According to KZN VIP Medical and Rescue spokesperson Garith Naidoo, paramedics arrived to find the rider in a critical condition.
“Rapid assessment and medical intervention were initiated without delay as the patient’s condition continued to deteriorate,” Naidoo said.
He added that despite extensive efforts by emergency teams to stabilise the patient, the injuries proved fatal.
“Despite advanced resuscitation attempts by our medical teams, the patient sadly succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on scene,” he said.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are expected to be investigated by the relevant authorities.
The incident adds to growing concerns over road safety along the busy North Coast corridor, where traffic volumes and high speeds often leave little room for error.
