Toy giant Mattel has issued an apology after fans discovered an incorrect website address printed on packaging for dolls inspired by the upcoming *Wicked* movie, which instead directs users to an adult website. The dolls, based on the characters Glinda and Elphaba from the film adaptation of the popular musical, were released in anticipation of the movie starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

Keen-eyed customers first noticed the error, sharing images on social media of the misprint, which appears on the back of the packaging just above the barcode. Instead of listing the movie’s official web address, the packaging mistakenly includes a link to a site unsuitable for children.

In a statement, Mattel expressed "deep regret" over the "unfortunate error," warning parents that the misprinted site is "not appropriate for children." The company has advised parents to either discard the packaging or cover the incorrect link, adding that affected customers can contact Mattel for further assistance. Mattel confirmed that the dolls were mainly sold in the U.S.

The *Wicked* film, set for release on 22 November in the U.S. and UK, revisits the iconic Land of Oz. The story explores the origins of Elphaba, who eventually becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and her friendship with Glinda, the future Good Witch of the North. This highly anticipated movie follows nearly two decades of the hit musical’s success on stage.
