The case against North West businessman Suliman Carrim has been postponed to next Thursday at the Musina Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo.

Carrim faces charges of attempted theft of motor vehicles, fraud and uttering.

The charges relate to an incident in July when his employees were arrested at the Beitbridge border after two vehicles, allegedly purchased by Carrim using fraudulent documents, were intercepted. The vehicles were reportedly destined for Malawi.

Carrim has been in custody since Thursday last week while awaiting a bail judgment in a separate matter.

In that case, he faces charges of contravening the Commissions Act after allegedly failing to appear before the Madlanga Commission.

His latest court appearance relates to the alleged fraudulent acquisition of the two vehicles, while the separate matter concerns his alleged failure to appear before the commission.
