The first accused in the murder case of Jabulile Ntimba has alleged that police tortured her and forced her to confess to the killing.

Fortunate Masilela and Tsakani Nester Msithini appeared before the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for their bail hearing.

Masilela, who claims Ntimba was her cousin, told the court through her lawyer that police had allegedly returned to her home and forced her to confess.

“The torture was so severe I ended up saying I killed the deceased with my sister,” Masilela said.

The two women face charges of premeditated murder and defeating the ends of justice.

Ntimba’s body was discovered wrapped in a sheet in Dawn Park, Boksburg, two weekends ago. Her death was the ninth case involving a woman’s body found across Ekurhuleni since July.

Three people were initially arrested in connection with Ntimba’s murder. However, one of the suspects was subsequently released, leaving Masilela and Msithini to face the charges.
